Ricardo Lanzarini
"Electrocardiograma Escultórico"
Texts by: Catherine de Zegher and Ticio Escobar
Over nearly 35 years of career, Ricardo Lanzarini has developed a body of work that spans drawing, installation, urban and site-specific intervention, both in Uruguay and abroad, participating in numerous international art projects and biennials. In his recent exhibition "Electrocardiogram Sculptural" (Centro de Exposiciones SUBTE, Montevideo, 2024-2025), Lanzarini presents a sculptural installation that interacts with his site-specific drawing work, creating a participatory experience that involves both the artist and the viewer.
This catalog features the curatorial text by Ticio Escobar, the curator of the exhibition, who analyzes the development and current state of Lanzarini’s light and mechanical works. Curator Catherine de Zegher focuses her analysis on the graphic aspect of Lanzarini’s work, particularly highlighting the JOB Collection series and the development of site-specific works, as well as reviewing joint projects created from 2004 to the present.
The catalog includes a series of images of works created from 1995 to the present, covering drawings, interventions, and site-specific projects, thus offering a comprehensive view of Lanzarini’s artistic and creative output. The depth of the curatorial texts and the previously unpublished collection of images make this publication an essential reference for the general public, artists, educators, and art students.
